Government Incentives and Rebates
While most government "Feed-in" Schemes are no longer available to new installations of solar generators, financial incentives are still available under the Renewable Energy Target.
Small-Scale Technology Certificates (STC) is a financial incentive, not a rebate, and consumers will not qualify for any government-based financial recompense at the completion of the STC creation process. This financial incentive in many cases make installing a solar generator a good long term solution for reducing your electricity bills.
Commercial Solar
Businesses can often benefit from installing solar as a substantial proportion of their electricity usage is often during daylight hours. Many industries require equipment like refrigeration and air-conditioning during the warmer months which is when solar will generate the most power and can provide a return on investment in 3 to 6 years.
A typical commercial solar system will consist of between 10 to 100 kilowatt capacity using 1 or more 3 phase grid connect inverters.
Each system is designed to the customer's requirements and involves detailed analysis of their electricity usage.
Rural Solar Solutions
Solar offers many solutions for rural properties.
For situations with expensive grid connection costs, or where mains power is not available, solar can be used to power anything from houses, bore pumps, irrigation systems and is a cost effective alternative to diesel generators.
Solar panels can be mounted on houses, sheds or directly on the ground on specialised mounting systems.
DC pumps can be powered by solar panels without the need for an inverter or expensive batteries making a very cost effective long term solution.
Off Grid Solar
Cost Effective
Stand alone solar power systems continue to grow in popularity due to the improvements in performance and cost. With new technology and lower cost per kWh it has become a viable alternative to grid connect power especially where the connection costs can be very high or even more than the implementation of an off-grid system.
System Design
Our systems are designed to meet the individual requirements of each customer. No two systems are identical, just as no two customers have the same dwelling, lifestyle and electricity needs. Each system is tailored to meet customer's varied requirements and budgets.
System Options
Systems can be designed with solar providing 100% of energy needs or in combination with a backup generator for times of low solar production or prolonged low light conditions in winter months and smaller lower cost solar array.
AC Coupled Off-Grid
Although it took a while, around ten years ago some manufacturers realised that they could already convert the solar (or other source) input to AC with Grid Tied inverters, so to simplify things a bit more AC Coupling was born, and it looks like this:
An AC coupled system using a grid tie inverter and an inverter/charger (also known as a battery based inverter).
By coupling everything except the battery on an AC Bus, management, monitoring and efficiency was optimised. Although it cost a little more in electronics, transmission losses were minimised, cable sizes were reduced and flexibility improved. One of the major benefits is that if the AC generation source matches the load size, it effectively powers it directly, bypassing the batteries. Another is that if more power is needed, the AC generation source and the inverter charger (drawing power off the batteries) can parallel together, increasing short term capacity. AC coupling can be done at a household level or in much larger micro grids and they can operate with or without a mains connection.
Residential Solar
Renewable Energy
Using the sun's energy to produce electricity for your home is fast becoming necessity. Not only is solar a clean form of energy but with the rising cost of purchasing power from the grid is makes sense to go solar.
Individually Designed
Every solar system from Leedn Energy is designed to meet your individual needs and situation. We take time to understand your electricity usage to ensure the system will give you the best return for your money.
Financial Incentives
While most government feed in schemes have finished, rebates are still available to help lower the initial cost of installing solar. For systems under 100kW an up front rebate is paid which in most cases is deducted from the purchase price to discount the system.
Solar Pool Pumps
When it comes to efficient filtration of your pool, installing a solar pool pump can provide a very cost effective solution. Pumps are connected to solar panels via a controller with no need for mains power. Right when you need to cycle you pool water the most is when the solar powered pump is working most efficiently - throughout the summer period.
